“I Wanted to Arrange His Wedding, Not His Funeral”: Father’s Emotional Appeal

Ketan Agarwal's father, Vishal Agarwal, said, "I have just one appeal. My 26-year-old son was killed for no apparent reason—a reason that remains unknown to this day. My child was not at fault in any way. I had set out to arrange his marriage and bring a daughter-in-law into the family. I never imagined I would lose my child instead. So, I appeal to everyone to ensure that he gets justice and that his killers receive the death sentence. I have full faith in the law and order system. I am completely satisfied with their efforts. I am grateful to everyone supporting me, and I hope you will continue to stand by me until the accused are punished."

Here are 5 fresh details on Ketan Agarwal murder:

1. A Secret Relationship Behind the Engagement

Police investigation revealed that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary had allegedly developed a close relationship over the past year through business interactions. Despite being engaged to Ketan Agarwal, Siya reportedly did not want to marry him. Investigators found that between January 1 and June 18, Siya and Chetan exchanged 2,004 calls, showing constant communication between them. Police believe the relationship eventually turned into a conspiracy to eliminate Ketan.

2. Rs 1 Crore for Wedding Became Part of the Alleged Plot

According to investigators, Ketan Agarwal had given Siya Goyal nearly Rs 1 crore for wedding preparations. Police allege that instead of using the money for the marriage, Siya handed the amount to Chetan Chaudhary to help him stabilize his business and career. Since Chetan reportedly came from a financially weak background, the two allegedly planned that after Ketan’s death, Siya would remain unmarried for three years to avoid suspicion. Later, once the case cooled down and Chetan became financially stable, they allegedly intended to marry.

3. Hoodie, Secret Phone, and the Fort Surveillance

Police became suspicious after discovering that Chetan allegedly left his own mobile phone at home on the day of the murder to avoid location tracking. Instead, he reportedly carried an employee’s phone and communicated with Siya through WhatsApp. CCTV footage from Lohagad Fort showed a young man wearing shorts, a hoodie, and a headset following Ketan and Siya from a distance despite the temperature being around 33°C. In one clip, Siya looked back and the hooded man immediately sat down to avoid attention. Investigators later compared the footage with Chetan’s photographs and social media profiles, which reportedly led to his detention.

4. The Signal-Based Murder Plan

Investigators claim the murder was carefully planned using a secret signal. According to police, Siya and Chetan had decided that she would sit down either pretending to drink water or tie her shoelaces. That action was allegedly meant to signal Chetan to attack Ketan from behind. Police also believe the signal was designed to keep Siya safely away from Ketan during the fatal push, preventing him from grabbing her while falling into the gorge. Sources further claimed that Siya had made a “secret call” to Chetan just 34 minutes before the murder, which investigators consider the final confirmation before the attack.

5. Failed First Attempt and the Final Execution

Police sources claimed that the murder conspiracy was finalized by the end of May and that the first attempt to kill Ketan allegedly took place on June 14. According to investigators, Siya tried to push Ketan off a cliff, but he survived after grabbing onto a bush. Police said she later fabricated a story involving a snake to explain the incident. On June 18, during the second attempt, Chetan allegedly followed the couple to Lohagad Fort on a scooter instead of a car to avoid toll plaza detection. Investigators believe that once Siya gave the pre-decided signal near the cliff edge, Chetan pushed an unsuspecting Ketan into the gorge, leading to his death.

6. Wig Controversy Added Another Twist

During the investigation, a new angle emerged regarding Ketan Agarwal’s use of a hair patch or small wig. Some reports suggested that Siya Goyal may have been unhappy after discovering this detail. However, Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, strongly rejected these claims and stated that Siya and her family were already aware of the hair patch before the engagement. He questioned why the marriage proposal was accepted if it was truly an issue. Police have also clarified that the wig alone cannot explain the motive behind the murder and continue to treat the alleged relationship between Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary as the primary motive in the case.
