Ahmedabad Plane Crash: One Survivor, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh ‘Passenger 11A tried to go back in,’ says ambulance driver who rushed Vishwash Kumar Ramesh to hospital

Passenger 11A, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, was traveling with his brother on Air India flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, to the United Kingdom at the time of the Ahmedabad plane crash. Ramesh was returning to the United Kingdom with his brother after spending a few days in India visiting his family. He stated that he has lived in London for twenty years and that his wife and child also reside there. He stated that the plane had his brother Ajay seated in a different row. “We visited Diu.  He was traveling with me, but I can no longer locate him. "Please assist me in finding him," he has requested.

Sandhu first assisted a security guard with partially burned clothing when he reached the crash site. He saw Ramesh leave the crash site shortly thereafter. “A man emerged from the crash site, and we saw him. He tried to enter again, which surprised everyone. In order to provide him with medical care, we stopped him and transferred him to the ambulance as well. Ajay Kumar Ramesh, Ramesh's brother, had traveled to Diu with Ramesh, a London resident. On the fatal flight, they were both returning to the United Kingdom. Tragically, Ajay was killed in the accident.

On Thursday afternoon, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242 passengers and 12 crew members collided shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The doctors' hostel near the airport's perimeter was struck by the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. Air India said that among the 230 passengers, 169 were Indians, 53 British, seven Portuguese and one Canadian national.

3. Vishwas Kumar Ramesh say to PM Modi

The sole survivor of the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, met and spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. Today, Modi arrived in Ahmedabad and met with the injured who were receiving treatment at the hospital. The prime minister inquired about my well-being and the events that had transpired. I told him that I am okay,” Kumar said.  At the time of the crash, Ramesh was seated in row 11A, close to an emergency exit on the aircraft. “Even I can't believe how I came out of it alive.  I had the impression that I would also die for a brief moment. But when I opened my eyes and looked around, I realized I was alive.  I still can't believe how I survived,” Ramesh told Hindustan Times recalling the accident.

“When the flight took off, within 5 to 10 seconds it felt like it was stuck in the air.  The plane slammed into a building there after the green and white lights started flickering suddenly, Kumar told the publication. In contrast to the rest of the AI171 flight, Kumar remembered that the section of the aircraft in which he was seated remained grounded and did not impact the building's roof. “I thought I could get out when I saw the exit. I tried and succeeded. Maybe the people who were on the other side of the plane weren’t able to," Kumar said.  I have no idea how I survived. “I walked out of the rubble. I saw people dying in front of me—the air hostesses and two people I saw near me,” Kumar recalled. All 241 people on board the Air India flight to London, which left Ahmedabad Airport at 1.39 p.m. on Thursday, died in the crash, with the exception of Kumar. A crash investigation has been ordered by the civil aviation ministry.

4. All 12 crew members died in the tragic crash

It is not just passengers' families that have been devastated by the plane crash in Gujarat on Thursday.  Additionally, the crew members' loved ones' lives will never be the same again. Air India’s Ahmedabad-London Gatwick flight AI171 had a total crew of 12 for the nine-hour-plus journey.  Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, 55, who had been with the airline for three decades, was in charge of it. He hailed from the Powai suburb of Mumbai.  In fact, out of the 12 crew members, the majority were based in Mumbai, while two were from Manipur – cabin crew members Kongroilatpam Nganthoi Sharma from Thoubal district and Singson Lamnunthem from Churachandpur district.

Saineeta Chakravarti (34), Aparna Mahadik (40), Deepak Pathak (35), Roshni Songhare (27), Maithili Patil (22), Manisha Thapa, and Irfan Sheikh (NA) were among the cabin crew members. Shradha Dhawan (44), the cabin supervisor, was also a member of the crew. Capital Sabharwal had 8,000 flying hours, and was an instructor pilot with the airline, according to some reports.  Co-pilot Clive Kunder (32), who had just over 1,000 flying hours, received criticism on social media for his low flying hours.

5. Actor Vikrant Massey lost his cousin in Plane crashed

Vikrant Massey, an actor, first expressed his grief for Kunder on social media, referring to him as the son of his uncle Clifford Kunder. “It pains even more to know that my uncle Clifford Kunder lost his son Clive Kunder.”  However, in a curious twist, Massey later clarified that Clive was not his cousin and that by calling Clifford "Uncle," he meant that they were "family friends," as Indians typically refer to senior family friends as "uncle" and "aunty." This may have occurred after numerous news outlets reported that Massey had lost his cousin.
